Brighton Surf Life Saving Club
Redevelopment
Transforming a former beach-side eyesore into an eye-catching, modern recreational facility involved multiple challenges.
Before construction could commence, Partek was responsible for removing the existing Brighton Surf Life Saving Club, which was clad with asbestos, and the partial demolition of the existing gear store.
The new two-storey structure involved the construction of complex concrete floor and intricate wall structures and a metal-clad curved
roof. To maintain the striking architectural features of the building, Partek carried out intricate detailing and steelwork with roof-framing and fascias curved in two directions.
Work crews had to operate within a restricted construction area and in challenging weather conditions to complete the project within demanding time-lines, strict quality controls and budget constraints.
