Renovations & Redevelopment

Extensive renovations and additions to the operational Royal Adelaide Golf Club were undertaken in stages to ensure the Club was able to operate with minimal disruption.

Stage 1 included the refurbishment and shopfit of the Pro Shop along with enabling works for the major stage 2 of construction. Linking two existing buildings and pavements at varying levels into a new two storey building was a challenge for the project team.

Stage 2 of the project comprised of a new two storey core filled block building with the lower level being positioned below ground level, requiring careful excavation into the sand dunes which was further challenged by a separate contract of civil works being undertaken within the adjoining carpark. The new building now houses a golf cart and buggy storage area within the basement and the female member locker room on the upper level which includes both wet area and change room facilities. Being the most exclusive golf club in South Australia a high level of finishes have been selected.

The Stage 2 works also included the construction of an all-weather glass breezeway tied into the new building and the two adjoining existing buildings, refurbishment of the existing golf cart and buggy storage facility and the construction of a new linkway connecting the new building to the main entrance of the clubhouse.

Regular formal and informal meetings were held with the stakeholders of the project and in particular the golf clubs management and administration team to ensure both client and builder were well aware of both the construction and golf club activities on a daily basis to prevent any inconvenience to the club and enable construction to proceed without any incidents.

We can confidently say that Partek have met the expectations of both the Royal Adelaide Golf Club and the consultant team and feedback from members and visitors to the club has only been positive.

Partek did not only deliver this project earlier than originally programmed, but was within budget and provided a high standard finish which aligns with Partek’s core values for its clients.
