Normanville Surf Life Saving Club

The new two-story building for the Normanville Surf Life Saving Club, Café and Kiosk is a remarkable achievement that enhances the beauty of the coastline. The project was completed on time for the summer season and involved the coordination of three different tenants: a café, a kiosk for the District Council of Yankalilla and a full fit out for the Normanville SLSC.

The surf club itself included a large boat storage/garage, change rooms, gym, office, surf lifesaving facilities such as first aid and patrol rooms, as well as a large recreational area on the upper floor with a training room, bathrooms, bar, dining area and a commercial kitchen. The Recreation room looks out over the ocean and includes feature linings on the walls and ceilings with wide sliding doors that open out on to the substantial balcony area. Other features of the building include burnished concrete floors, colorful feature tiling, glazed balustrades and rendered block work and a weatherboard external facade with large aluminum windows. Associated works including a sheet piled retaining wall and external pavements which spill on to the public foreshore promenade.

This successful project was a great team effort working alongside Surf Life Saving SA, Architects Ink, BESTEC, WGA, The District Council of Yankalilla and the Normanville SLSC which will be enjoyed by many in the years to come.

Excellent communication and care to minimising the level of disruption to students and teachers was a key feature of Partek's management.
