The Charles Campbell Secondary School’s new Science Centre was a part of the Australian Government’s Building Education Revolution stimulus package. As a Design and Construct project, Partek were contracted to ensure the project was delivered within budget, on schedule and up to the standards set by the Department of Transport Energy & Infrastructure from concept to completion.
Prior to commencement of construction Partek liaised with the school to meet their design brief and work closely with the consultants, offering buildability proposals to the complex design both with regards to Architectural finishes and Services installations.
Externally, the building consisted of a structural steel and light steel framing structure and was clad with numerous building products including concrete blocks, aluminum, galvanised steel, glass and zincalume metal linings. Internally, the fit-out of the laboratories had a significant amount of services confined within the partition walling and a large portion of high-end finishes with anti-corrosive properties leaving no room for mistakes.
The full time site manager liaised with the school on a regular basis to ensure disruptions were kept to an absolute minimum, and ensured safety was always at the forefront throughout the project
