The refurbishment of the Del Monte Palace Building formerly the Australian Institute of Sport Building involved converting the site into 12 Apartments complimented with a central courtyard area comprising Pool, Sauna, BBQ Areas and a Fully licensed Restaurant. The design combined heritage & contemporary materials which required important consultation & liaison from different authorities.
This project was delivered over 60 weeks mainly through 2 summer periods where pedestrian beach goers were most prolific which required segregation & careful logistical planning. Complexities were also encountered due to the client shared under croft car park which Partek gained access.
The interiors consisted of various selections of contemporary floor finishes; alternative laminates, veneers, stone and 2 pack finishes on furniture; carefully selected wall finishes and various ceiling designs and finishes to accommodate the extensive lighting and air conditioning layout.
The exterior comprised a fully serviced courtyard including a large range of feature walls, screening & fencing to accommodate the pool, gym & bbq area. Landscaped surrounds were complimented with drought resistant plants.
